AMANA REFRIGERATOR DOOR SEAL

We bought lobsters at Central Market in Austin Saturday and boiled them. Thankfully, James was there with me because I instanty felt bad as soon as they were in the bag and placed in the cart. He told me that we could only name the lobsters Hilter and Stalin.

I read online that studies were still being done on what lobsters can really feel. I also read that their nervous systems are probably similar to that of a grasshopper, so if you can smush a bug, you can kill a lobster. Nevertheless, I still had James put them in the freezer for a few minutes (I guess it minimizes the amount of times the tail flipped when placed in the boiling water).

In the water, we put a couple of bay leaves, lemons, and concentrated crab boil.
Of course, we put a TON of salt in there as well.

They were about 2 lbs each and we cooked them for 8-10 minutes since they cook in their shells after. It was our first time cooking lobster and they turned out FANTASTIC!

Asparagus was roasted in the oven at 450 for 20 minutes in olive oil, lemon, sea salt, and pepper and then sprinkled with parmesan and a little hollandaise (I only use Knorr) poured on top before serving. Best way I've ever eaten asparagus. Hate it boiled or steamed. Super easy.

Butter was heated over the lowest heat possible and then the foam scooped away.

The four tables could seat 6 crewmen each, for a total of 24 at one sitting. Between meals, the crew would use this space for recreation. Movies would be shown, card games played, or the crew would study for advancement tests. Many of the boats had checker boards or other game boards printed on the table tops. Below the deck are large freezers and refrigerators for storing food for periods of up to 75 days.
